Dec, 08, 2009 08:00 This is the true story of how a senior NCO with an excellent record sacrificed his carrer in the U.S. Army to ensure that William C. Hauser, LTC. USA Ret would never receive another command during his term of service. This is a true story and I will not change any facts as there are no innocents. I will do this in short "installments", a paragraph here, a fact there, but I will finally tell the true story. When I first decided to tell this story in 1983, my life was threatened. My family was threatened and finally I was locked away in a mental ward for "evaluation". So here we go. It was the late fall of 1982 and I was platoon Sargent. for the second platoon of the INSCOM detachment at Goodfellow A.F.B. A position I had held for almost a year. My MOS (military occupational specialty) was 98G4LKP. That translates to Voice Intercept Supervisor, Korean. It means that I was a senior radio intercept operator. However, I was working as a platoon Sargent. At that time it was against Army regulations to force a soldier to work in a position outside of his specialty for more than six months. The Army made that regulation to ensure that people remained qualified and current in their primary specialty. "Wild Bill" Hauser, had violated that regulation and didn't want to be reported.
